Paying for Care
We understand the financial stress and potential hardship paying for care can cause a family. We work with you to develop the best plan possible to obtain care for your loved one in the most affordable manner available.
Prairie Senior costs are determined by the level of care required and the type of room you or your loved one chooses. (We determine the required level of care through an assessment process, with the understanding it may change with health fluctuations.)
Acceptable Forms of Payment
Prairie Senior accepts payment through private funds, private insurance and Medicaid. Our social workers and business office staff will assist you in preparing for, understanding and receiving any available assistance to help with paying for long-term care.
Many residents qualify for Medicaid, a state-administered program that helps those with limited financial resources. Some residents are approved for Medicaid, but they are still responsible for a portion of the cost of their care. This part is frequently referred to “share of cost,” “resident liability,” “applied income” or “private portion.” This amount is typically billed as a flat monthly rate. Non-covered items, such as over-the-counter medications, salon services or personal convenience items, are billed separately from costs of care.
