July 13, 2020: Family Center for Health Care resumes their regular weekday hours and walk-in-clinic. Saturdays remains temporarily closed. If you come for a visit, remain in your vehicle and call 785-462-6184 for assistance.
June 22, 2020: Effect immediately: 1) All patients & visitors are REQUIRED to wear a mask, 2) Visitors: 1 support person per day except for ER, 3) ER: NO Visitors (except patients under 18).
June 1, p.m.: Effective immediately, Citizens Medical Center Visitors are now limited to 1 person per day Mon-Fri from 6:30am-7pm & Sat-Sun from 8:30am-4:30pm.
March 27, 2020 @ 5:11 p.m.: Effective immediately, NO VISITORS at Citizens Medical Center.
- Exceptions (OB: 1 support person for duration of stay; Pediatric: 1 parent at a time; Out-Patient Clinic: 1 visitor per visit if needed)

March 27, 2020 @ 5:11 p.m.: Effective immediately, new states have been added to the quarantine restrictions: Louisiana or anywhere in Colorado on or after 3/27/20.
March 25, 2020 @ 7:32 a.m.: Effective immediately, new counties have been added to the quarantine restrictions in CO, KS and MO. Our screening will now ask that you call ahead if you have traveled outside of the NWKS 9 county area.
March 23, 2020 @ 8:34 p.m.: Effective immediately, Illinois & New Jersey have been added to to the quarantine restrictions. If you have traveled to those states on or after March 23rd, KDHE mandates a 14 day quarantine.
March 22, 2020 @ 12:30 p.m.: Updated visitor restrictions to include these areas in Kansas: Johnson County & Wyandotte County on or after 3/19/20; traveled to the greater KS City area (including Jackson County in Missouri) on or after 3/19/20
March 20, 2020 @ 2:43 p.m.: Family Center for Health Care implements new hours: Mon.-Thur.:8am-6pm, Friday: 8am-4pm, Saturday & Early Morning Walk-In Clinic will be suspended until further notice.
March 20, 2020 @ 11:39 a.m.: NO siblings allowed in the Labor & Delivery Unit. OB will be reserved for the mother & 1 support person only.
March 17, 2020 @ 10:09 a.m.: Featured Events: All educational activities are suspended until May 1st at this time.
March 17, 2020 @ 10:09 a.m.: Citizens Medical Center (hospital) cafeteria is now CLOSED to the general public.
March 14, 2020 @ 10:04 a.m.: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) announced new restrictions with visitation for Nursing Homes. Per guidelines, Prairie Senior is restricting ALL visitors to better protect our residents.
February 28, 2020 @ 8:09 a.m.: Thomas County Health Department and Citizens Health along with Emergency Preparedness partners have been meeting to prepare and respond to respiratory illnesses including Coronavirus (COVID-19). COVID-19, like Influenza, is a respiratory illness that is spread from person to person. Symptoms include; fever, cough and at times shortness of breath. IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS, CALL AND LET US KNOW BEFORE ARRIVING! Family Center for Health Care, call 785-462-6184 or Citizens Medical Center, call 785-462-7511. Currently, your risks are higher to contract influenza than COVID-19. Remember the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions are most at risk for complications from respiratory illnesses like influenza. Be sure you are up to date by referencing the KDHE website at http://www.kdheks.gov/coronavirus/index.htm as this will give you information specific to Kansas.
